「阿知の藤に翡翠（かわせみ）」.

Kurashiki's flower "Wisteria"

The color of the flower is expressed through dyeing.
The flower language of wisteria is "welcome".

The motif was created with
『the Achi wisteria=Achi no Fuji』,
a natural monument of Okayama Prefecture,
which grows wild north of the main shrine of Achi Shrine
in the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter.

『Achi no Fuji』 is a type of wisteria called Akebono Fuji,
and is estimated to be between 300 and 500 years old,
 and is said to be the largest wisteria of its kind in Japan.
It blooms pale pink flowers every spring.

The friendly  kingfisher(Japanese→like a jade)
is designated as the city bird of Kurashiki,
and its jewel-like color can sometimes be seen alongthe banks of the Kurashiki River.

倉敷の花「藤」

その花の色を染めで表現.

藤の花言葉は「歓迎」.

『倉敷美観地区阿智神社本殿の北に自生している岡山県天然記念物『阿知（あち）の藤』をモチーフに製作しました。『阿知（あち）の藤』はアケボノフジと呼ばれる藤の品種で、推定年齢は三百年から五百年ともいわれており、同種の藤としては日本一の巨樹だそうです。毎年春に淡紅色の花を咲かせます。なかよく遊ぶ翡翠（かわせみ）は、倉敷の市の鳥として定められており、その宝石（翡翠：ひすい）のような色合いをした姿は倉敷川畔でもみかけることがあります。』
